An evening of Science themed art, comedy, music and performance.
Lemon Labs was a collaborative project working with some of Liverpool’s most ambitious creative individuals. Our combined love for Science and all things wonderful and complex led us to hosting Liverpool’s first Science themed variety show. Featuring science themed art work by Debrea Lewis, Tracey Escolme, Abi Hudson, Laura Sullivan and Hannah Midgeley.
The evening’s compères and resident physicist clown, Dr Orgelby and his assistant, led the audience on a journey through the Big Bang. All of the performances from the acts represented different stages of the universe after those fleeting first moments of existence.
Guest speaker Dr Neville Cobbe from NorthWest Cancer Research, began the night with an illuminating presentation on the work being done to fight Ovarian Cancer.
The astounding Science of the Lamps played a show-stopping set of songs with their extended line-up.
Tristan Brady-Jacobs of TVLUX collaborated with Bring the Fire Project to produce a mesmerising display of LED poi spinning with a projected live video feedback over the performance.
Later in the evening, Glasgow based comedian Hari Sriskantha performed some of his hilarious scientific comedy.
Members of The Lemon Collective awed the audience with a breathtaking home-made fire ball launcher performed to live drumming from the Lemon Head, the scientists and their assistants.
Finishing off in style, chip tune legend Chipzel and her modified GameBoy blasted out some of the best 8-bit tracks known to mankind.
